Horizon Hub

A different way to learn

A physical hub for online learners that offers community, guidance, and daily workshops, helping adolescents expand their horizons and build a stronger foundation for real life.

About Us

We are opening Horizon Hub for students and families seeking an alternative to traditional education.

Many adolescents don’t fully benefit from the traditional school system — whether they are creative, independent thinkers, or learn differently — and we wanted to create a space where they can thrive on their own terms.

Horizon Hub provides a physical space for students combining online learning — whether GCSEs, A-levels, or other courses — where they can receive guidance, build connections, and engage in hands-on learning.

Each day helps students discover how they learn best, manage their focus, take ownership of their progress, and grow through creative, practical, and reflective experiences. The Hub follows the same values and holistic approach as our Center, ensuring students are supported academically, emotionally, and socially.

We have the courage to be innovators. We recognize that the modern world requires rethinking the way we teach. At Horizon Hub, we stay updated on the latest educational research, thinking forward and approaching learning with curiosity and creativity. This is a place where students can explore, experiment, and develop the confidence and skills to navigate the challenges of life today.

Ultimately, Horizon Hub is a place for students to find their voice and their path through learning.

Structure of the Day

Research shows that shorter, focused learning blocks, combined with meaningful guidance and hands-on experiences, improve motivation, retention, and wellbeing.

At Horizon Hub, we take this approach. Each day balances academic focus, personal growth, and practical skill-building. Students engage in supported independent study, where guided focus time helps them develop concentration and self-management.

Workshops form the required daily block, while the rest of the day is flexible: students manage their own study and break times with our guidance, allowing them to extend focus periods if it suits their learning style.

Individual mentoring and goal tracking ensure they reflect, plan, and grow at their own pace.

Individual tutoring with special-education teachers is available, tailored to the student’s subjects and exam format.

Students attend Horizon Hub 4 days a week on-site. The 5th day is dedicated to structured home learning, following a plan we build together with each student. A mentor is available on call for support whenever needed, ensuring guidance and help is always within reach.Families can choose whether their child attends the full program or a partial schedule, depending on their needs and goals.

This flexible framework prepares students for independent learning and real-world responsibilities.

Workshops & Skills

We believe learning goes beyond exams. Our daily workshops give students practical experience and insights that support both their academic journey and life beyond school.

Workshops cover four main areas:

  • Life Skills & Financial Literacy – budgeting, planning, decision-making, understanding the economy, preparing for job interviews, and university applications

  • Critical Thinking & Social Awareness – analyzing information, recognizing bias, understanding social media and narratives, and developing independent thought through debate and discussion

  • Creative Expression – drama, storytelling, film, editing, public speaking, music, and other creative projects

  • Wellbeing & Personal Growth – emotional regulation, self-reflection, and building confidence

Workshops are interactive and guided, with some delivered by our mentors and others led by specialist professionals. They allow students to explore new ideas and practice real-world skills, and connect with peers and mentors.

This hands-on approach helps them discover their strengths, develop curiosity and creativity, and build the confidence and independent thinking needed to navigate challenges both in school and in life.

Who Is It For?

Horizon Hub is designed for students and families seeking an alternative approach to education — one that offers flexibility, values creativity and critical thinking, and places wellbeing at the heart of learning. Through personalized learning plans, we are able to support diverse types of learners: those who benefit from a more individual approach and those seeking deeper meaning and purpose in their education.

Students don’t need to be enrolled in a full online GCSE or A-level program.

Each family chooses the online courses and platform that best suit their child, and Horizon Hub provides face-to-face support and interactive workshops to complement their learning.

Registration follows Cypriot law: students must have completed the mandatory school attendance phase.

Mentors

In a world where all information rests in the palm of your hand, we see our role not as information-givers, but as guides and mentors. Every student at Horizon Hub has a dedicated mentor who supports them, oversees their personal learning plan, and helps them develop independent, creative, and critical ways of thinking.

We focus on building strong, and trusting relationships rather than asserting hierarchy. By setting clear boundaries, upholding shared values, and prioritizing connection, we create an environment where students feel supported and safe. Research shows that students make stronger progress and retain knowledge more effectively when learning happens in the context of these trusted relationships.

Adolescents Who Don’t Thrive in the System — A Problem or a Strength?
Adolescents who struggle in traditional schools are often labelled as unmotivated, difficult, or rebellious. But what if those labels aren’t problems — what if they’re hidden strengths just waiting for the right environment to thrive?
